Situation
Allen Proctor, founder and principal of Proctor’s Linking Mission to Money®, is a consultant for nonprofit organizations that focuses on solutions for the financial and performance challenges within the NPO industry. Proctor approached Marketing Works, looking for counsel in all around marketing strategy.
Strategy
Marketing Works recommended increasing Proctor’s exposure and positioning him as an industry thought leader. First, Marketing Works recommended re-designing the current logo and branding relevant collateral. Customized Linking Mission to Money® collateral included business cards, letterhead, book poster and product one sheet. Because his web presence was in need of revitalization, Marketing Works created a newly designed website, social media channels and introduced Proctor to blogging. An extensive public relations strategy focused on marketing Proctor’s consultation and speaking services, creating news releases, and obtaining book reviews.
Results
In the span of one year, Proctor’s website experienced a 145 percent increase in visits and a 97 percent increase in average time spent on the site. With the implementation of a social media strategy, Proctor gained notoriety and attention on various sites including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Most recently, Proctor’s Twitter activity has resulted in a single quarter follower increase of 105 percent and retweets with exposure to over 28,000 users. Marketing Works successfully secured a number of speaking engagements, including a feature on All Sides with Anne Fisher at WOSU. Notably, Marketing Works arranged for Proctor to be featured each month in a personalized column for Columbus Business First.
